Artivist in Action - 2017 Applications
We are excited to announce the second year of our Artivists in Action (AIA) Program, featuring Artivist in Residence, Frenchie Davis! Frenchie, a Howard University graduate, is a renowned vocalist, television personality, Broadway star, and activist. Ms. Davis has been an outspoken advocate and voice for LGBTQ Youth and People of Color, making her a perfect mentor for this year's cohort.
Beginning this fall, under her mentorship and the guidance of the NYU LGBTQ Center staff, students will have the opportunity to explore the unique and powerful connection between art and social change. Together they will work to expand their point of view and skills as well as co-create and produce artwork that will address issues surrounding our community and social justice.
We invite all artists, whether visual, performing, or creative writers, to apply, as well as students from all backgrounds and identities. Applications will be due Friday, September 15th, at 5pm!
